I got my DOC reformatted with DOS and stuck a bunch of utils on it, including the DOC utils, DOS, edpart, and MS Client 3.
I'm trying to get MS Client 3 working and this is what I'm getting:
It boots, and starts to run the various programs. First, "net initialize". That seems to go great; spits out the information about my NIC (I/O, address, IRQ, make, etc) and says "The command completed successfully."
The next command it executes is netbind.com. This gives me:
MS-DOS Lan Manager v2.1 Netbind
(loooong pause)
Invalid COMMAND.COM
Enter correct name of Command Interpreter (eg, C:\COMMAND.COM)
>>
So I enter in c:©ommand.com, the appropriate shell, and it just keeps telling me it's invalid.
Perhaps my I/O address is conflicting with my card; I had to move the DOC to CC00 because my NIC was D000.
Woops! Just realized that I had changed the wrong jumper.
Ok, rebooted with the right jumper changed (eek!) and now it gets through netbind, umd, tcptsr, tinyrfc, nmtsr, emsbfr,
but then seems to be hanging on "net start".
Ok any idea what could be the problem with "net start"?
I turned off DHCP and coded my IP, gateway, netmask, computername, and a couple other common settings.
It's still hung on "net start"... please post with any ideas.
