Before someone flames you to hell, I thought I should post and tell you that you should just read all the threads on here. Trust me, there is plenty of info on this board about the onboard NIC.

Thanks, I did do a search before I posted a topic dedicated to the onboard NIC... and only found mention of it in a couple different places. What I was hoping for advice from anyone who has successfully gotten it to work, and not just theorized that it could. Is there a specific Intel (or other) chip part number that is needed aside from the connector, where does it get attached, what version BIOS is needed to support it. If I missed the thread that contains this info, I apologize in advance.

Hmmm... guess my search criteria weren't quite what they should have been. Thanks for the link! Looks like a lost cause though...

I really think that we've thrown in the towel too early on this one. Come on, we're enabling com ports, and ide headers. Heck, we even added missing USB ports! In my opinion we just don't have the right people looking at it. Where is Roastbeef?! I'm sure he could figure this out in a heartbeat.

Lets see, soldring 16 pins verses one hundred and twenty pins, placed 3 times closer, on a chip that is designed for wave soldering, not designed for rework. And this is just for the main chip. Sure, you go ahead, if you succed then I'll do it, and I have a Surface mount rework station!

It is NOT possible by 99.9% of all persons on this board, it would be cheaper and easier to buy a mo-bo with that on it already.
