Linux on DOC

New MessageLinux on DOC (modified 0 times) gregster
Has anyone figured out a way to get a Linux image on the DOC like the LEM distro ?
The webpage is : http://linux-embedded.com/lem.php3 I'm still learning Linux and would like to have either detailed instructions or maybe an image that could be installed from DOS.

Thanks

Yes, it is fairly straightforward.

1. With IDE Hard drive, install linux on HD.

2. Recompile Kernel with DOC support. Information is available from M-System's web page on how to do this.

3. Retrieve lem image onto hard drive.

4. Reboot with new DOC kernel.

5. Follow lem instructions.

6. Insert the DOC boot image on /dev/fla1 /boot directory and update lilo.conf and fstab appropriately

Do you have the a patch file for use with RedHat 6.1 ? The M-System site has one for the 2.0.x kernel, but only has an example for the 2.2.x kernel. Patching the kernel manually is a little beyond my skill level.

This was addressed in another forum, but here it is again http://web.tampabay.rr.com/sjohnson Go To Linux Resources and scroll towards the bottom. You will need each of the files listed.
