New Audio Hack
internal amp and speakers

New MessageNew Audio Hack (modified 0 times) ckbone
I'm finishing up an internal audio amp powered by the surfers power supply, complete with built-in speakers. I used a set of Sony 2 watt amplified speakers. The setup runs fine on the 5v output from the p/s. The amplifier is very small and can be mounted anywhere in the case. For the time being, I'm mounting it completely in the case...power switch on, volume control on high. There are several places you could mount the amp so the switch and vol control came through the front of the case...but I'm going to use softwear control. It'll turn off with the Surfers power button. The speakers can be mounted on the sides toward the front of the case. This setup is supposed to be magnetically shielded....anyway I don't notice any problems. I'm using the audio outs on the rear of the case, simply looping back into the case.. Right now I'm looking for some small speaker covers to cover the speaker holes I'll have to cut into the sides. The sound is suprisingly good, considering how small the speakers are. It's much better/louder then my I-openers speakers. This is a Sony SRS-A21..BestBuy $20.
