CUSA IDE card, has anyone had this problem?
CUSA IDE card, has anyone had this problem?

New MessageCUSA IDE card, has anyone had this problem? (modified 0 times) booboo
Just wondering if anyone else has been having this problem...

My HD access speeds are incredibly slow... possibly only slightly faster than a networked drive. I am using a CUSA generic IDE card that everyone on this board was posting about. perhaps i have a faulty IDE card? Or that it may have been damaged when I removed the printer port? Or is this just how slow the WS is? Please advise thanks...

It's an ISA IDE controller, and the CPU bus is 33 mhz max. Don't expect the speed to compete with any desktop. If you've got a bus mastering PCI NIC, it could quite possibly be as fast or faster than your ISA IDE.
