WSMOD KIT

New MessageWSMOD KIT (modified 0 times) SGer
I just dug into my Wsmod-1 kit and here's where I'm stuck:

I just soldered in the 6 "330" resistor paks, GD75232 chip, and IDE header. What I'm left with is 8 unmarked capacitors. I think they may go in the C9, C15, C10, C16, C151, C148, C149 and C150 locations right next to the CN18 com header. Can someone please confirm or this for me?
I'm also left with two "330" (33 ohm) single resistors and one "201" (200 ohm) single resistor. Where are these supposed to go?
I was expecting to see two pull up resistors for R99 and R100, but this is all I have left.

HELP!!! HELp!!! HElp!!! Help!!! help!!!

I haven't used a WSMOD-1 kit, I just directly obtained the passives. However, FWIW, R99 and R100 are 1 K resistors (102). Perhaps you are looking at it inverted. The caps for the RS-232 are any value from 150 pf to 1 nF, 330 or 390 pF work fine. I don't know about the 330 resistors (I did not use them).

I have gotten kits where they throw in extra parts in case you screw up. If it works, be happy. Why not ohm out the resistors?

Just talked to Codeman, he says sorry about the instructions but he wanted to get the kits out.

R99 and R100 have been found out to be 33 ohm (330 printed on top), Codeman checked this and tried it on his WS.

"201" is for the IDE activity light (200 ohm). The caps are for the serial port. We have had no problem using the serial port without them, it's your choice how much soldering you want to do.

Remember to use a very low wattage soldering iron and if you can, use a low melting point solder as explained in other posts.

A link to the pic. I made it back when we thought R99 & R100 were pullups.

anyone know why I haven't been able to get a reply to several e-mails asking the status of my kit order? I have even called, and the answer machine is full, thereby yielding no results either.
HELP!!!

Hardware1:

Thanks for the detailed response. Are the cap locations (C9, C15, C10, C16, C151, C148, C149 and C150) all the right ones for the serial port?
Also, is "R182" the right location for the IDE activity light 200 ohm resistor?
