This is a waste of time. They work, generics work. Check your settings. So far I have gotten 3 to work, above you see 4 more.

Pull the damn DiskonChip. You can always put it back.

Has anyone gotten a PCI SCSI card to work yet?
When the SCSI BIOS appears during the POST, I
keep getting a "interrupt doesn't work." I've
changed the audio IRQ10 to IRQ5, manually enabled
IRQ's, but nothing seems to work.
I want to see if I can get an external Jaz drive to
boot.

IDE controller: Promise Ultra33 PCI
Modem: original that came with WS, as "Standard Modem"
Diabled onboard IDE controller
Removed DOC
Boot C:,CDROM
Ultra33 detects the WD 3.2G hard drive
OC to 233 (larger heatsink w/paste)
original 16meg (for now)
Still cannot play sound. No conflicts listed but as soon as a a sound starts to play, I get a hard lockup. I do still have the PCI Bridge listed in the device manager as an unknown device. No relies as to which specific file to use to get rid of it. Typing this message on the WS hooked up to my 32' right now.

mccanis, I've got an ISA SCSI card working, but I don't know about a PCI one yet. I did have to pull the DoC to get the drive on it booting, but I'm still screwing with it. I'm willing to bet you can get a PCI SCSI working with a little tinkering.

Has anyone had any problems with Western Digital drives (specifically, relating to their "EZ-BIOS")? I have a WD 13.6 and it wouldn't work in my other comp until I used their program.
05-01-2000 16:31:58

New MessageRE:CONFIRMED IDE CONTROLLERS POST HERE (modified 0 times) emtnman
As far as the "EZ-BIOS" goes, the problem isn't usually the controller, but the MB bios. Older motherboards didn't anticipate such large drives, so you have to use software to "work-around" those bios limits...

Why pci? Because some of us hackers have Promise Ultra66's hacked to Raid and bought them just to have. Now it looks like they have a use
I just couldn't find a buyer for my ibm ultra2 10000rpm 9.1 gig to switch to ide raid.
