I'm not sure if this is a heat related problem...
Here's my setup:
WSPro Overclocked to 266Mhz
SMC EZ-NET PCI 10/100 Ethernet
GS-12 (something like that) IDE controller card.
2.5" 4G toshiba drive, via 2.5-to-3.5 adapter.
144Meg Ram (Added 128M for testing)
Installed Win98SE with all internet updates.
Connected to my network via a ethernet switch at 100Mbps
And have connection to Internet via ADSL.
Surfing seems fine, running a distributed.net client on it and still works fine.
But if I go to foxnews.com and run a video, the box freezes up after about 2 minutes. I tried lowering the settings in bios to be the slowest and it still crashes,
even bringing the box back to 180Mhz does not do the trick. The massive video processing must be stressing the chip to much.
I'll try running it again tonight with a big fan pointed at the WSPro.
And then try BeOs 5.
Anyone else able to get high res streaming video to work ?
Thanks,
Chi
