RE:Netowrk boot? (modified 0 times) Zonyl Its quite easy getting linux to boot off of the DiskOnChip and probably a lot less of a hassle then burning a prom. If there is any interest in the complete 2.2.16 source with DOC support and USB already patched let me know and ill dump it online somewhere. I jusr dropped the kernel on the DOC, plilo'd with nfsroot option and away I went, diskless workstation. 07-08-2000 19:22:51

RE:Netowrk boot? (modified 0 times) Gustav I burned a PROM for my wd8013 and tested it in another machine. However, nothing happens when I boot the websurfer with the card in; after the "please wait" screen, the cursor just hangs. No DHCP request is sent, let alone any tftp activity. I'm not beaten yet though; I'll keep trying and report back any success. 07-10-2000 23:38:58

I've been pulling my hair out trying to get Linux to run off the DOC and have had one problem after another with getting the dang thing to work until I ended up corrupting the Linux install I had on the HD hooked up to the WSP to work from. Wold it be possible to just take a DOS image dump of the DOC (using the DOC utilities) and just distribute that? Would be a LOT easier! Let me know... crazybiker_ga@yahoo.com 07-12-2000 12:18:14
