I had Windows 98 SE running on my Websurfer for a couple months, not really using it in the living room, so I moved it into the computer room as a secondary PC to use while I'm camping^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hplaying EverQuest.
At this point it still worked fine, so I attempted to get it working on an external keyboard and mouse, since I planned to use it a bit and didn't want to replace the batteries every week. I removed the tabs and plugged in an external mouse and keyboard. It didn't work right away, so I checked the board here, and found out I needed to put in some jumpers and possibly remove the IR daughterboard. I set everything back up the way it was -- IR keyboard and mouse. Daughterboard reinstalled, jumpers removed. I reinstall from scratch. Same result.
I've since tried Slackware 7, Mandrake 7, RedHat 6.1 and 6.2, BestLinux, and one or two others I think. During the installation, while booting off the CD, they give me some variation of:

Any idea what the hell is going on, anyone?
This is driving me crazy.
