| Through the excellent support I got on this board in the past, I got my I-O and my WS Pro up and running flawlessly with W98. Now I need some help again. My WSPro has been a key part of my entertainment center for the past few months. I had been using it solely for Napster, and it was working GREAT. I would be connected for hours at a time with no problems. Just a week ago, I noticed that I would get promptly disconnected upon dialing out (before username & password were checked), or just a minute or so after actually connecting up. I've tried the following troubleshooting things with no success:
Connect another computer to the same phone line (Dials up & connects - no problems).
Remove "Standard Modem" from devices list and reinstall hardware to Standard Modem.
Completely replaced Modem card with brand new card from my "backup" BRAND NEW WS Pro.
Modem Diagnostics says Modem is Fine.
Dial up directly through Dial-Up Networking & disconnects the same.
Dial up by launching Internet Explorer and disconnects the same.
Still, the problem persists. Why was this working flawlessly for so long, and now disconnects. It's not the phone line or the modem. The CPU is not overclocked. It's running stock. ANY IDEAS, SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED...
Thanks,
