should I get a hd install kit?

I don't know if this was covered yet or not, but here is my question.

I have read alot about websurfer-modding
and am very interested, I have a websurfer
on-the-way which I ordered off ebay, I am
trying to decide which mod-kit to buy with
my ws, or if I even need a kit at all.
I plan to install a 3.5 inch HD, and use an
ISA controller card and hopefully a PCI netcard too, if it will fit. (otherwise I'll use usb, but usb eats resources.) I have
heard of alot of people installing their harddrives without the kit. since I don't
have my ws yet, I don't know how tight a
space I will be working in, I'd like to hear how some people installed 3.5" hard drives into their websurfers. and / or if it is possible to install a 3.5" hd using an ISA or PCI controller card. (preferably not RIGHT ABOVE THE POWER SUPPLY :) ) , as I said before, I don't have a ws yet, so I don't
know how tight a space I will be working in.
(if someone could post the ws's dimentions,
it would be great)

i have managed to fit in a 3.5 drive. just use a screw put it on the top of the websurfer to hold the drive in place inside. there is just one spot the drive can fit at, you'll see what i mean once you get it.

the pci and isa cards should fit, u'll have to unscrew the metalic frame at the end of each pci/isa card . put a piece of paper between the pci and isa to insulate it.

the only real concern is this. you'll have to install a fan to draw out the hot air within the websurfer. the cpu fan manage to distribute the air but it still get stuck inside.

have fun. remember to overclock the websurfer to 233. you'll find some links on that.

watch out with using another keyboard/mouse by jumpering the pins. because it was that that i wasn't able to use my modem, after 2 days of troubleshooting it, it ended up having either the pins jumper or the infrared platform removed from the motherboard.

another thing (and I know this is off topic from my original post, but while I
got you here,) if I install the fan, and the harddrive, and the controller, etc,
has anyone had any problems with the power supply (not heat related, but just
that It can't put out enough power?) I'm sure it wasn't rated to do power this much
hardware.

fan, harddrive, and ethernet card controller isn't demanding much power. that is the basic setup.

haven't seen any power related problems.

where are you mounting your fan?

how will you cool the websurfer with the case closed?
