| The 5530 (actually now made by National who bought out parts of Cyrix) is the 'bridge' between the PCI controller and the ISA bus. It has the interrupt router, the IDE interfaces, the ACPI power contoller, the Audio contoller, the video interfacing bits and (finally) the USB contoller.
In fact quite a lot of a basic PC (bar the memory, CPU and I/O logic)
