Using stock SW with a free ISP?
Just SW hacking

New MessageUsing stock SW with a free ISP? (modified 0 times) Not Quite
I managed to get my brother to pickup a websurfer for me, but don't have it in
my possesion yet. It appears that you can configure another ISP. Does anyone know
if this box does this IO, "I'll call home and tell them where I am?"
If I read the websurfer site correctly it should be $49.95 for "lifetime upgrades". Anyone know the details?

Has anyone tried filling in the dialin and dns params for a freeisp, say freewwweb, who documents all their params?

Could I bother someone to tell if the box comes with a list of supportted printers?

Thanks for the help. This one is destined for a non-computing fixed income relative.

Cheers,
nq

No can do. The WebSurfer folks require you to sign up for their service whether or not you use them as your ISP - think the built-in browser pipes you through their portal.

Forgot.. Yes, the manual lists the supported printers. Unfortunately, I don't have it with me or I'd send you the list.
