I am expecting to receive a Websurfer any day now and have been wondering if I can use the machine as-is, but use a PCI NIC instead of the modem to connect it up to my network. Any ideas? Has anyone else done this?

NO.

The PCI bus isn't really enabled properly from the BIOS for the use of a NIC card. You'll need the update from d1v3rs1ty

Also, not to labor a point made by many before me, if you'd used the search function of the website, you'd have found the answer here as well as other threads.

Cheers,
