Has anyone actually ran X on their WebSurfer Pro? I am looking for some people's configurations, (or just the pertinent sections) to run my WS in X on the TV. I have successfully gotten it to work at 640x480/8bpp, but the quality isn't that great. Is 16bpp possible? Has anyone ever ran X successfully on these? If so, please post details of how you did it. (I am using NetBSD, but any X help is appreciated)

The only way we've gotten them to work with XFree86 was to use the VESA driver and
boot Linux into VESA console mode off the bat. The driver for the CyberPro chipsets
is rather twitchy under TV operation (Never was fixed for that mode, from what I can
tell- and we kind of gave up on set-tops using them before we ever got around to
fixing the accelerated driver for our and other people's purposes...). The VESA modes
work correctly and X works just fine in 16-bit mode from that. Not sure about how
to get there from NetBSD, but I hope the tidbit I just gave you helps.
