How do I get to the POST screen?

New MessageHow do I get to the POST screen? (modified 0 times) alcuin99
Hi all; Somehow, I was able to see the post screen ONCE. it said, yadda yadda, 180mhz cpu, 16mb ram. Does anyone know how to get to it? I tried the esc key (the one in the upper left corner) but that doesnt work, gives me a black screen with a cursor. I know how to get to the cmos setup, but this is different, i think. Thanks to anyone for your help!

hi all again,
OK, I figured out how I did it the first time. This is a virgin websurfer :) ... Just go to the bios, integrated perhipherals, and turn on serial port 2 to irq3 (forgot the mem address); reboot, and watch it error! but wait, you get
to see the neat POST message

To get this to work you have to have the ISA modem in place (That is what 2F8 conflicts with)

New MessagePut on the security boot option (modified 0 times) Spectrum
put in a password in the supervisor password option and it will stop at the info screen and show the post. Mine is at 266mhz :)

I replaced the stock heatsink with a Retail Coppermine heatsink

I bought 2 this morning at CompUSA in Anchorage Alaska, I left one there, I might get it later. The security guard looked at them funny and asked me why they were so cheap. I said I do not know. No TOS at all.

Spectrum, I just overclocked mine to 266 on your advice. I used a bigger heatsink from an old CPU, and some thermal grease. The only thing I am afraid of is if it does ever burn out, where am I going to get another one of these CPU's. I can't find them anywhere and it looks like I'm not the only one.
