How to enable external mouse & kbd connectors

New MessageHow to enable external mouse & kbd connectors (modified 0 times) hardware1
From Codeman: The jumper block right next to the power connector (labeled CN6, 8 pins) enables the external mouse and keyboard!

Jumper across 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 with jumpers like you find on a 3 1/2" hard drive "master/slave" selection block.

You may have to remove the motherboard to pop out the metal inserts that block the connectors on the back.

Codeman just tested it.

Can half those pairs be jumpered if you only want the external mouse or only want the external keyboard but don't want both??

It makes the wireless behave oddly from what I hear. The solution is to disable the wireless. That's why I'm wondering if you can just enable the mouse, but still use the wireless keyboard.

Did you pull the IR interface board? I understand that you need to do this also. I havnt tried it myself.

The keyboard it nice but the mouse pointer stick needs help. ie no control, hard to use.

To avoid probs w/ ir & wire, I had to remove the ir "daughterboard", then the wired keyboard & mouse woked quite well.

For my intended purposes, the IR keyboard and mouse stick will be fine (livingroom mp3/shoutcast tuner).
I actually think the keyboard is REALLY cool, although I had to lower the mouse accel a bit because it's so sensitive and quirky.

Still nothin, how do I disable/remove the ir daughterboard? the external keyboard and mouse connectors with all the jumpers on flat out does not work at all. I really need to use a external keyboard and mouse on this thing. :(
