There is quite a bit up already on the Xbox. Van's and HardOCP have internal pics as well as some other places. The CPU seems to be an Intel Celeron mobile 733MHz with likely 133MHz FSB, thought not positive. There seem to be two different HDDs shipping in the units, an 8GB Western Digital and a 10GB Seagate. I posted a bunch of links to this stuff on my page at http://www.xboxhacker.net

This will be fun, let the hacking begin!

hmmm......one thing i never thought about where's the damn vga port? :) it'll be nicer to have it hooked up to my big 20inch monitor for more crisper video :)
and on the xbox head to head link you don't need to buy those 20 bux cable , a cat5 crossover patch cable can be bought for 5 bux at computer store and volia!
how good is the video out to tv on this? as compared to monitor or hdtv?

Anandtech has a detailed article on the hardware for the Xbox and some comparisons with the PS2 hardware. The link is the obvious one...

The XBox does 640 x 480 max.

Even a 14 inch monitor at that resolution will give a crisper picture than a TV or an HDTV.

Any effort in trying to get a 20 inch monitor to work would be wasted on the XBox

Not true in reference to the max 640x480. Read the articles about max res. Its actually quite high (> 1280x1024 AFAIR). Micrsoft also claimed that VGA is technically possible with just a cable. For now, you could buy a progressive HDTV video cable for the XBOX and get a progressive -> VGA transcoder which has minimal loss to get a near native VGA display @ > 1280x1024. Thats of course assuming that you run some software on there that could drive that ;)

Hey, I got this thing called Jam!!! at Electronics Boutique that lets you hookup anything that outputs S-Vidio or RCA composite video to a VGA monitor. It cost me $80 new, but I will sell it to one of your for $40 shipped. And yes, the picture on a monitor is ALOT sharper than on a TV.
