Hi SiliconIce

Can you tell what happened to your website xboxhacker.net?

bunnie was just about to unveil the secrets of the BIOS
encryption and then ... zonk! the web page vanished, as
if someone had pulled the plug.

Any plans to reopen the site on a different provider?
Do you have a backup of the forum database?

CRAP!

I am so sorry, my host is screwing up so bad and they are not fixing it. They screwed with my account and haven't bothered to fix it yet. Hopefully it will be up today...I will be moving the site ASAP, hopefully I can get a banner to cover the hosting. I am on a cheesy server now and I am paying the price...

Forums should be ok...they were yesterday, but I have had major problems (again, due not to anything I did, but what the host did)

Please check back, the site is not going anywhere.

hmm, maybe you should consider running a silent backup site which can
take over, when required. This would help you to cover events like

-a provider ####up like obviously happened recently

-Microsoft attacking the main site (threatening the provider, referring,
for example to the DMCA).

You do really think it's all the provider's fault? maybe they HAVE been
convinced by Microsoft to wipe your account (but didn't actually tell you
about this). Or maybe your site created more traffic and database load than
your provider was willing to handle, so they used the unfair method to kick
your site.

Well, I track my stats. I was 2X my bandwidth allotment last month, but they charge me so they don't care. My site is peanuts.

And no, Microsoft is _not_ after the site in any way! Xboxhacker.net is cool with MS for now since we are being careful to stay completely legit. If they had a problem they would notify me I should think. And so would the host!

The guy running the host company is a decent enough guy, he's honest. He wouldn't boot a site cause it was heavy traffic. And like I say, my site is not really that large.

But anyway, it's back now!
